Hello everybody. I've just bought a UX F-Sport. My first Lexus, and it follows several BMW's, the last one being a 330D M-Sport - lovely car, economical and deceptively rapid.

Will I miss the Beemer? So far, I don't think so. The UX cab is well-appointed with more gadgetry than you can shake a stick at, I'm sure it's all really useful and I'll remember to play with it eventually. They safety features are very reassuring. The ride is good and performance surprisingly pleasing - Just under 50mpg on my first day of ownership looks promising.

Setting up internet connectivity is a bit of a faff, although phone pairing and connecting apple iPlay was pretty painless. I'm sure I'll get there when I feel the need to waste a couple of hours swearing at technology.

Next job is to fit my Nextbase dash cam -has anyone found a neat way of doing the that doesn't involve plugging it in to the 12v socket or setting off the airbags?

Welcome to LOC Chris, another person who escapes BMW land! :)

I have done it myself couple years ago after an ownership of 4 BMWs! 

Chris, why Lexus and not another BMW if I may ask?

The tech can be a struggle although also the system in general was down for about 24 hours there - it's working fine again now!

My wife has also just joined the UX club, in her case a base model but with Premium+ pack. The spec is astonishing for the money, it is comfortable and, by the way, despite the concerns about size I've just put a set of golf clubs in the boot with relative ease...

@Vlady -I've had 5 BMW's - 530i, 530D, 630i, 640i convertible and latterly the 330D M-Sport. Couldn't fault the cars - comfortable, effortless performance. Dealer experience has been less than ideal and probably best described as 'arrogant', which doesn't work well with me. All they're interested in is selling you a car and, in my experience, both pre-sales and after-sales service is absolutely average, along with their servicing. The only time they proactively contacted me was when I contacted BMW Financial Services to obtain a settlement figure.

My experience with Lexus so far has been a breath of fresh air. Personable, not pushy, well-informed sales staff who communicate well and are probably in love with the product they're selling.

First impressions of the UX are promising for me. Not as quick off the mark as the 330, but in every other respect, it's ticking boxes. It's a very different experience and my initial 54mpg isn't to be sniffed at.

There were a couple of requests for images, so...

(The observant amongst you might notice that the blue car isn't a Lexus - this is my other car, so for anyone who thinks that you get 54mpg for 'Driving Miss Daisy', think again. Unlike the UX the Tuscan has no servo assisted brakes, no airbags, no traction control, no anti-lock brakes or the myriad other niceties of Lexus ownership. It does have rocket-ship performance and several scary tendencies. However, driving either of these cars makes me smile - it's all about experiences.)

Reading your post and previous ones too, I was thinking that this guy knows a thing or two about cars....then I see he`s got a TVR !!

I bet you sold the Marcos to get it ?

Chris, 2 nice cars! I never drove a TVR but read a lot about these cars! 

I think it is ideal to have 2 cars like that, Lexus for leisurely every day driving that is comfortable and economical and TVR for a blast, adrenaline rush ride!

I have a Honda bike for it, it is not the fastest bike but totally different experience to a luxury that Lexus provides! 

I like the BMW you had, can't agree more - Lexus is totally different experience to a BMW, you need to get used to it and to the way it drives. 

Funny enough, this morning I read about BMW 5 series x-drive 545e, well, this will  be tempting in a couple of years time! 🙂

Hi Chris and again welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. As for your dash cam go on nextbase website and look for the hard wire kit. Excellent bit of kit and easy to fit. Just learn about your trim.

I had a UX as a curtacy car. 40 miles I did in it. Yes I thrashed it 1st time in lol. I averaged 47 mpg and 56% on Battery alone. Enjoy your car

@Mr Vlad - Just back from the dealers, where a very helpful techy talked me through trim removal, wire routing and internal fusebox location. I fitted the hardwire kit in the TVR and the BMW, but Lexus trim is at a differ level! Cheers.

That was good of the techy. With regards to the hardwire kit. Look at your fuses in the car 1st b4 you fit the kit. I had to go to Halfords twice to 1st get a fuse puller then to my dismay a 10A fuse same as the ones in the kit because in my car anyway the fuses are different to the kits one.
