Hi everyone,

I have just purchased a 2000 (x reg) IS 200 with 42000 miles on it, the car is excellent to drive but every time i stop the car there is a buzzing noise and vibration through the brake pedal. I am thinking that it must be the ABS but it happens even at slow speeds. This only occurrs for about half a second just as the car stops. Has anyone came across this problem before or know of any way to fix this.

Hi!

Check the speed sensors on the inside [usually] of the disc.

They look like castle walls[except of course they are circular]

If any of the "castles" are full of dirt this will cause that problem,it

happens on my old Merc. :o

It may not be the only cause but worth doing anyway. :winky:

cheers

I am assuming that you have bought this car from a dealer? so take it back as this is not normal, if u are hearing a buzzing type sound and the pedal fluctuating then this is the abs, but can also happen when the trc control comes in. - do u get any warning lights on the dash, as u will get lights whenever these items operate.

oh you can not check the phonic wheel ( what the guy above was talking about) easily, you will have to remove the sensor( on the wheel hub and behind the discs) and look down a small hole to view this.
