Lights in the door handles and the side lights should come on... If it is dark enough. They do not when you lock.
If you want some light when locking, flick the high/low beam towards you after you have turned the car off, but before you exit. Low beam will activate and stay on for 30 seconds or so. (Follow me home function). You can still lock the car.
