Timing belt recommendations in Midlands

Recommended Posts

Hi all, does anyone have recommendations for service and changing timing belt / water pump in the Midlands please?

I just bought an LS400 with little service history, although I can see the timing belt was last done 40k / 7 years ago so I gather it needs to be done soonish. It's a MK3 with interference engine so I don't want to leave it too long.

From a quick search it seems Lexus Coventry is frequently mentioned here, and one post suggests their price (in Jan 2019) wasn't too bad? Any other recommendations around / independents?

you haven't mentioned the current mileage BUT normally for this car you would do timing belt, pulleys and waterpump at 100k miles / 10 years .......  so it might not be quite so urgent maybe !

it's now just about run in at 183k, sticker on engine says belt was changed at 61k, then a receipt says it was changed at 142k

Thanks @royoftherovers , unfortunately none of those are that close to me

if you have confidence in the receipt for that work then 242k miles / 10 years might be fine
