Central Locking

Hi, I just bought my first car and I’ve got myself an is220d. Absolutely love it! I got a great deal second hand but I ran into a problem straight away. 
 

the keyless entry works fab, and the key fob opens the driver door great but it won’t unlock any of the passenger doors. I have to unlock them all manually from the entering. Even when I use my unlock controls in the drivers door it won’t unlock them. I’m wondering if this is a common fault and if any petrol heads have a clue of what is going on.

there is a system for either unlocking the drivers alone OR all.
