My GS 2012 seems to rev to 1400 RPM when it starts from cold and in neutral? If I put in gear seems to rev normally. I guess the gear box reduces it?

I normally start then drive off but this morning let it idle whilst I put stuff in the boot the stink of petrol was really bad.

Lexus Edgware says its ok. I have Lexus warranty on it?

Is this normal?

Just now, scudney said:

I would say that's about normal on cold start up,how long does it remain there for

Not sure as didn't want it overfueling and dumping fuel into the bores and oil. But at least 3-4 minutes so turned it off.

When it starts hot it blips up to 1400 then straight back to normal.
