Oh here we go, who let you two sit together?! 🤣🤣 .....Regan and Carter. I returned to the thread after a few hours work and the task force has been assembled. Sweeney Todd the Lexus Plod.🤣 If I'm going to be under surveillance, it might as well be by the best. 👍

Like the look of that LS460 but no sunroof?  They're so comfortable for a long trek. The differences in the F-Sport model are worth having. LSD Brembo brakes. etc. Unusually some of the US models are better specified than the few we have here. The LS600 is something else, very heavy but I want one. They should all be supplied with a chauffeurs cap.

I was going to take some underside pics yesterday afternoon but it was cold and was going to be a faff getting the SC out of the way for jacks and stands to put the GS up in the air sufficient to get a decent view so retreated into the warm. This is all I have for now.

I'm not so keen on the interior colour Bob, it's 'tan' I suppose and in very good condition. A gentle leather clean and it will be almost like new. The only signs of very minor wear are in the driver's seat and the original drivers floor mat.

Think tan leather is a bit more forgiving than Rutland ....wonder if that company does a touch up dye for tan, say tan it must have a more correct name 🤔

Yes I confess when I bought it I looked underneath from the back and both sides but didn't inspect it as closely as I would normally. The research gave me confidence, it drove as well as I would expect it to, it was just as described and priced to sell quickly.

LS460 1UR with dual ram air intake system. I'm not sure if or how it makes a difference yet but it's interesting.

The GS460 1UR uses a poor design 'log' manifold. The LS460 1UR has a better manifold that pairs the exhaust ports into 2 Y pieces and then to 1 pipe to the primary cat for each bank.

Example of PPE ISF headers.

If I could justify/afford it. I would go headers to cats, downpipes merged to x pipe, dual to 2 high flow resonators, 2 rear silencers, standard tails. All smooth and quiet.

Another 'nice to have' would be paddle shift. The only steering wheel I have identified that might work, catering for the radar cruise distance setting is the ISF.

Yes............. I saw that it has radar cruise . Has it the pre crash mitigation incorporated ? Its part of the radar system . Its the best feature of the new fangled things of today . I have it in the CRV and I wouldnt be without it (2008 model). If its 8 speed I think the paddle shift would be too much . I had it on he IS250 . Only used it to demonstrate and then put it in auto . Just my twopence worth

will study form tomorrow....bed said zebedee!!

LB00 ?/

Paint code is 212 and the trim is LC00. It might be the only one with that combination. In the original service book it's written down as Velvet black and Ivory 😏

Unclebob has had far too much influence on me lately, whilst I was waiting for the car to be delivered, I started to trace the list of the 17 UK GS460 cars.

Of the 17 I found the details for 6 quite quickly. The 7th was a second black car with black leather but I couldn't find the number plate for it.

Neil you’ll have to give me the link to track other cars....will add it to my system 😉😉

Something wrong Bob have you forgotten your LPNC password again?  I had another little search last night but no new info. Perhaps there aren't any other GS460 owners visiting here either. There are at least two low mileage examples among the few that I've traced so far.

I've been caught out a couple of times by the lack of traction on take off in the wet and still being over-cautious on the twisty bits, not that I've been in a hurry but it does seem to hold the road quite well. The GS450 must be impressive if it's fractionally quicker as this thing is certainly no slouch. Point to point probably not quite as agile as the SC but with similar treatment I'm quite sure it could be in ISF territory. New shocks, and beefier ARBs to control the sway would seem a good idea. It has reasonable clearance but does look and feel quite low to the road. It feels like it needs more rear end grip but I don't want to compromise the comfortable ride.

How do you get on with the touch screen for the heating and air/con...not something I’ve had in a car before ?

No problem. I set up before starting off and rarely need to touch it again throughout my journey.

It's mostly fine but I do occasionally forget where the buttons are after switching cars. I would say it's easier than the SC but you just get used to using any Lexus after a short while. The RX has most of the settings on the screen too but again it's a slightly different format.

As John says, you may set it up to to begin with to perhaps clear screens on take off and then drop back to the 'Auto' setting after 5-10 mins.

Some owners have read the whole manual so can probably change the settings by voice control in 7 languages....I'm still working on it.😉

Neil, I shall look forward to being chauffered along the A27 again when we're allowed out to play! Lovely rare car, is it the same engine as the LS460 with a timing chain?

Hi Phil, how's it going? Yes it's the same engine but it breathes a little differently to the LS460 1UR-FSE. I'm having fun researching the details and pondering over what subtle changes I might consider doing.  I was looking for a newer style LS400/600 but couldn't resist the GS460 when it appeared.

When restrictions are lifted I'll dust off the chauffeur's cap and head South for a gentle glide along the 27. (I actually had a chauffeurs cap with the LS430)

It's very smooth and quiet but not as refined as a 'well oiled' LS/Celsior.....nothing is, even the later LS models make slightly more noise.

Thanks Neil, looking forward to it!  We're all fine and dandy, just being sensible but can't wait for things to be relatively normal.

I was very lucky to recently stumble upon this GS460 so wasted no time in acquiring it.

It's in pretty good condition with just a few fairly minor items to address including a routine service. At this early stage of ownership I'm not sure whether I shall simply restore it to order to be enjoyed in its original form or 'enhanced' for a little extra fun. I've started researching the detail of the GS460 and the potential to develop it a little. However it progresses, I thought it would be worth starting a build thread as it's rare to see a GS in this form.

It's been called upon for work duty so hasn't been in a decent clean state for pictures yet so for as long as it remains available on You Tube, here is a link to the video the dealer made in support of the sale.

Might be Cashmere going by the brochure above 🤔

Bob, I forgot to report that another brochure lists, Parchment, Grey and Black as the choice of interior trim.

Nice GS!

Thanks Thomas, very pleased with it so far. Viewed your latest vid the other day. Keep them coming.

When I sell the SC430 perhaps I could edit the You Tube video and commission you to do the voice-over sales pitch? 🙂

Now awaiting a quote from PPE in the US for short pipe headers but I will need to find a fabricator in the UK to make up the offside header to avoid fouling the steering column.

Apparently the header flanges on the GS460 1UR are different to the ISF 2UR too, I was surprised at that.
