Sadly i think its time to leave the fold

Recommended Posts

Due to becoming unemployed in September i have to consider selling the ISF, she has 120k miles has full Lexus SH (due a service now but its not in use as i have no where to go).

2008, with floating bells/rotors, H&S exhaust, BC Racing Fully adjustable suspension.

Where should i be pricing this? as prices seem to be all over the place

Sorry to read that Rich.

Just price it to sell at 15% above the minimum you need.

its more a case of identifying the market value, the car owes me nothing so more about understanding where it needs to be for a reasonably quick sale

Sorry to hear this dude.

I've been looking for one for a few months now. I would say with the miles you're looking around 17k (that ball park). Taking into account the miles and the age. There's a 2008 with 150k on the clock and FSH that has dropped to 15k and still hasn't moved.

There’s a FLSH White ISF on AT, 90k @ £14.5k, so £17k, to me, would be optimistic.

Of course, but you have to start somewhere and there's something not right about that white one. Can't put my finger on it. As for the OP's car, it all depends on condition and how it's been kept.

It's weird me looking in the f part of this forum. Weird also how I'm looking at isf's. The thing about the white one is its a 5 seater. I've looked time to time at isf's and everyone has been a 4 seater. That's what puts me off them but there again putting a 3 seater seat in the back shouldn't be much of a problem.

As for pricing your car Rich look on AT and eBay. Between £14 and £15k should be a good fair asking price considering the none standard upgrades on yours.

Yeah it's a b*** er having to sell summat you love. Had to sell my RX450h for economic reasons. Best of luck selling yours. 👍

I forgot to mention. Use we buy any car. Create a duff email address first so you don't get inundated with emails from them. Once in the site be honest. Mention all dents scratches etc.  This will give you an accurate value a dealer would offer if you were to part ex. But add £1k to that as your asking price. This is about as real as you can get market value wise.

Very sorry to hear this!

Bit of an odd question, would you buy it back in the future?

I'd say have a nose about on autotrader and the like but prices have been a bit odd in recent time I've noticed!

if it came back in the same condition, then yes most deffinately

It would be worth selling your mods and back to standard if possible. Sorry to hear about your circumstances around selling though.

Definitely take off the after market stuff. I wouldn't touch anything other than a stock car.

ISF market is extremely stiff at the moment (they actually have appreciated in last 3 years). If few years ago higher miles IS-F (at the time 80-100k) were selling at just ~£10k, now the cheapest you can get is around £14-15k.

Considering it is 2008 car with 120k miles I would put it maybe for 15-16k listing all the mods with hope somebody would come-up with knowledge of what they worth, but realistically be prepared to accept £14k, generally modifications adds 0 value when selling the car. And waiting for mod enthusiast to come and appreciate them may take forever.

If possible, reverting mods and selling car stock is the best option.

That said in car selling a lot is to do with how quickly you want to sell, I feel it may eventually sell even for £17k, but it may take a year (during which car will need keeping-up), but if you want to do it within a month it may need to be priced at £12k for it to shift quickly.

Hi @Twellsie I almost sold mine to a member on here. And I would have done if he had been realistic on price. I was even open to giving a discount for it to go to a good home (not very rational but that’s how my brain works). But I’m not sure he was very realistic. The weird thing I found was the low balling by members trying to get a bargain. Rather than offering market value but getting the bonus of having much greater insight into the car and the reassurance of it coming from and enthusiast who would have looked after the car properly.
Price / value is only ever as much as someone is willing to give you (obviously). Saying that I wouldn’t advocate the webuyanycar plus £1k approach...that way is just a race to the bottom set by the lowest common denominator in the market.

Any F is a specialist proposition and it will come down to being set at the right price given the condition of the car.
I have to say that a non-stock car would be a no no to me...unless it was from someone on this forum and had some provenance, etc...on which note, I’ve dm’d you!

I know that car and it’s previous owner, he’s known to a few on here from meets (Ryo) he’s a Japanese mate of mine, everything on that car has been done at Milton Keynes Lexus, the only fault that I know of was when he bought his new GSF he gave this to his (now ex wife).....and she pretty much kerb all the wheels, she sold it last year to this owner, it “was” a great car but obviously I don’t know between then and now.

Sorry to read about your circumstances Rich, a friend of mine sold his to a dealer (not Lexus) he said he got a good price for it and it took all the agg out of selling private,......a dealer will always move a car quicker due to finance option which a private seller can’t offer......the question for you is......”what are you happy to get for it”......wishing u luck with the sale and more so with a new job and the opportunity to keep the car.

Ahh ok. I'm by no means knocking it, I was interested but something just didn't seam right. I think it was the modification to the rear seat (which I know the ad states they have the standard one), but it was just odd. Plus the miles were too high. I'm sure it's a nice example.

Sorry didn’t mean to sound in happy 😂.......I honestly don’t know exactly how that car is now BUT under Ryo ownership it wanted for nothing, he changed the rear seat to accommodate 5 people, the belt hooks etc are the same so nothing needed to be altered, the only thing he changed was the sport button, he put that on the steering wheel and I think he sacrificed the cruise control although all still there to put back the standard spec, there’s a few non U.K. parts due to being Japanese and small enough to fit in his suit case 😂......I think the LSD cost him about £4K to have done, loosing the car in a divorce was hard for him BUT she was making moves against his GSF......he travels about 15000 a year, his GSF is probably the highest miler in the U.K. 😂......like I say,....it “was” a lovely car when he owned it, last 10/15k who knows 🤷🏼‍♂️.......BUT no offence meant in previous post (no tonality in messages)

all the best Paul
