New Member - LS430 Boot Leak

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, hope everyone keeping well in these extraordinary times!

I am a new owner of a beautiful 2004 LS430 (Red,140k), noticed water getting into the boot? I have read people replacing it with ones from sealsdirect, however I am unsure of the seal spec? or should i go direct to Lexus?

If anyone can share some experiences/fixes please?

Thanks in advance, Akkas.

Had the same problem 2 years ago when I bought my current 2000 LS430.

Before you spend money - prise the existing seal off the boot lip and clean all the old sealent off the seal, and off the boot lip. Then press the seal back in place without any sealent.

That's what I did with mine and it hasn't leaked for 2 years, and I live in Manchester where we've been under water for months!

I suspect the sealent perishes with age and lets the water seep past it.
