I predict I’ll need new tires in maybe 6 months time. So doing my research now.

Hi I’m struggling to find out if you do my cars tire sizes for a Lexus 450h gs

Rainsport 5 I want.

Front 235/40 rear 265/35 both 19 inch

ideally the mitchlin ps4 would have been my choose but their £900 for four.

rainsport 5 I have my eye on for now at a more reasonable £600+ price range. Unless someone knows a better tire for not much more?

im told because rear wheel steering they will run out quicker?

on my previous 2.0tfsi awd Quattro I changed the fronts every two years and Rears every four years. I only buy brand new tires.

Hi, not sure if this is still a current topic but 2 years ago I bought 4 x Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric tyres for my Xkr from Openeo. They came from Germany in good time, fitted by my local garage and worked out at apx 110 per corner.

I can certainly support the choice of the Goodyears.  The 18” wheels of my IS250 also required two different sizes.  I was looking for good all-season performance - especially in the wet.  And they certainly provide that.

Before buying them I did check the various tyre testing websites and these Goodyear Asymmetric 5s always came out very well.  They’re certainly far quieter and more comfortable than the original tyres.

my next goal is to do a £520 full service with Lexus.

It is good to have the car serviced by dealer, but it does not always add value to a 2012 car, when you sell it a few years later.

From my experience FSH cars are easier to sell but they ultimately go for the same market price. The age becomes the dominating depreciation factor before mileage and service history (provided the car is in good condition).

But of course it gives a piece of mind when your car checked and singed by the dealer once in a while.

Im thinking to get all round RAINSPORT 5'S I had rainsport 3's years ago and they was good only let down was the soft side walls making car feel boat like but Ive read they've improved for 5's  plus for four new 5's around £700 price point which is reasonable money and within my budget especially when you get punctures and have to replace them. Id love to get the ps4 tires but for four looking at a crazy expensive £900. Is the any quality alternatives to the rainsport 5's? for about same money?

At the moment my car has four davanti dx640 tires previous owner put on as a cheapo option I dont know the cost of them. I cant complain about them yet as ive only pushed the car in straight lines. so not sure their full performance envelope to be honest but id have more confidence with a known brand to push the car.

Know nothing about them apart from what Uniroyal has published.  Any comparative tyre tests yet?

The tread certainly looks the business and, as you already know, Uniroyal/Continental is a high quality brand.  I should think it’s a close run choice between them, the Goodyears and Michelin CrossClimates.

If you can find a dealer who sells all three - they’ll probably recommend the one they make the most profit on.

Why not BridgeStone or Pirellei?

Im on my 5th car now. my 1st a 1.6 1988 ford escort mk4 gia all black (had faulty fuel gauge lol) serviced myself, 2nd 1997 black 1.6 mk6 ford escort si full mondeo 24 body kit, 3.5 inch pipercross exhaust sounded like a beast serviced myself. 3rd 1.8turbo black 1999 golf gti mk4 dump valve and tints added (was a police magnet 😥) serviced myself. 4th 2007 2.0tfsi black mk7 audi a4 quattro special edition 2.0tfsi was the 1st car I owned full audi dealer service history and I added a further 5 audi dealership stamps to it so was pleased when I sold it had a 13 year full audi dealership history mainly i wanted to keep the car tip top condition of all the cars I owned it was the most expensive major engine failure, suspension needed replacement, sensor failures to many to list ( I was not alone re online forums 😭) cost me thousands in repair/wear n tear costs as I always insisted the car have OEM or close enough.

Moving on re my Lexus last two services been done by private garages and I suspect they probably cut corners and the car did not get alot of love other then to be driven hard previous owner seemed that type lol (I was sold car with no receipts for anything). This Saturday Lexus main dealership I signed up to a three year service plan total £1030 I get half price mot and two major services and one minor at £40 per month with a small deposit. so essentially I get a free service out of it if I paid individually. If I have any major things need doing on it I will probably take it to a Lexus specialist instead.

Who knows my mpg etc mite improve with official lexus spark plugs etc lol?

Just go to Halfords lol
https://www.halfords.com/tyres/bridgestone/weather-control-a005-evo-weathercontrola005evo.html?dwvar_weathercontrola005evo_sectionwidth=245&dwvar_weathercontrola005evo_aspectratio=40&dwvar_weathercontrola005evo_rimdiameter=18&dwvar_weathercontrola005evo_speedrating=Y&dwvar_weathercontrola005evo_loadrating=97&vid=4338794

A/C rating same as the Rainsport 5s and actually out-performed them in some trials on heavier cars. Don't ask me to find the reports again through, was a year ago before I purchased them I did a lot of looking for tyre comparison.

Compared to the cheaper tyres the car had on when I bought it, (yokomos or something), was a big improvement in terms of handling.

Why not Pirelli indeed.  I’ve had them and they were excellent.  In fact I once had a business day at the UK factory because they made Esso brand tyres on the same production line.

Not so convinced about BridgeStone.  I finally made my choice by comparing as many comparative tyre reviews as I could find.  But that was nearly two years ago, technology moves on and in any case my priorities may not be the same as other drivers.

I wouldn't get the lower-end BridgeStones but the higher ones are as good as any of the other premium ones from what I've seen and test results I've seen.

That seems a terrific service plan cost, way lower than I have seen so far, may I ask how much the small deposit was?

The problem that @Riccccccardo has is that, like me, he has a Mk4 F Sport model. Your 2007 Mk3 Steven runs 245/40 18 tyres. The MK4 F Sport tyre size is 235/40 19 front and 265/35 19 rear. I have not found a tyre manufacturer that makes an all season tyre in 265/35 19 size. I have found all the tyre manufacturers offer the 235/40 19 size but very few of them offer the 265/35 19 size. The few that do seem to be at the top end. So an owner is left with the decision whether to fit different brands front and rear or find a manufacturer that makes them in both sizes.

I currently have Pirelli Sottozero winter fitted and have a new set of Michelin PS4S waiting to be fitted next month, bought last November from 'blackcircles' for less than £650.00 (a 25% off deal if I recall).

Ah makes sense. When tyre manufactures see people with unusual sizes turn up, their eyes go kerching 😉

Probably had to adjust the tyre sizes to balance that massive 5.0l v8 sitting on the front wheels 😉

I think the reason ive always stayed away from goodyear or bridge stone is their bad reputation in reviews for wear rates + high prices (even though your purchase was not high price lol)

awwwww ok the reason i would never look at these bridge stones normally is a typically go the the Mitchin ps4 near/class of tire which im not sure if this in same class.
