IS250 OEM 18 inch f-sport question

Hey all,

So I've bought a pair of 18-inch f-sport wheels off of eBay. I'll need to get tires and the second set of alloys and tires for them.

A couple of questions for you all if you could help. I couldn't get a feel off of the published info on eBay what the tire sizes are and thus whether these are front or back alloys that I've bought.

Also, anyone know of the two I'm missing are for sale anywhere?

Those are rear wheels and as standard would have 255/40R18 tyres.

The front wheels are 8" rather than 8.5" wide, with ET45 offset and have 225/40R18 tyres.

Thanks Colin, that's very helpful.

Lexus wheel naming is not great (they usually have no names or numbers).

These wheels are simply known as multi-spoke/F-sport/15-spoke wheels. As you can see in brochure calls them "ISP Mode", but I have never seen them listed this way.

As Linas has stated, Lexus don't give names to their standard wheels.

The front ones have a part code 42611-WY050 which will give you something else to search for but most sellers won't know this code so unfortunately I'm not sure you will find many matches.

Hey Colin,

I finally managed to source the front wheels. I've ordered the tyres as above and National tyres are querying saying it would typically be 255/35R 18s?

Any help would be great.

James

Well they're on, subtle difference but love them.

Congrats on sourcing the alloys! I have the same on my F Sport 2010 IS250 and while they're not my favourite type they do look great on the IS. I'd probably say its worth visiting breakers when possible, my brother in law happened to be at a breaker and found me these F Sport alloys and I got them for £20 a wheel! They need some refurbing and cleaning but thats something I plan to do in a few weeks time

Hello All

Sorry to tag onto this topic but the query I have relates to the rims being discussed.

I have a 2007 GS450H SE with a set of the original rims that are in a terrible state. I have tried to get them refurbed but am unable to remove the plastic chrome parts (broken one lug off already and the rest of them will not budge). All rims currently fitted with 245/40ZR18 tyres.

I like the IS250/IS350 15 spoke F Sport 18" alloys in this topic and was wondering if they would fit my GS450 ?

It does mention above that the IS250/350 have 8" rims on the front and 8.5" rims on the rear but I am pretty sure my GS450H currently has 8" rims all round, unless you guys know different ?

Would prefer to also swap over the tyres from the original rims as they aren't very old ?

Thanks for your help, any help/advise would be greatly appreciated.

Andy.

just jumping on for my first post here, so be kind to a newb...

being the clueless car chap I am but loving my car, I have been trawling the internet for a set of wheels for my 2010 IS250 f-sport for a couple of months with little luck, and the above post from ColinBarber is the first true reference I've found for the wheels I already have.

sadly one of my front wheels was bashed and now goes down to about 12 psi a day or two after inflating, which other than likely being dumb to drive on is eternally annoying.

my questions are:

  • what in peoples opinions are the best new wheels I can easily source if I wanted similar? budget is about £800

and

  • anyone any idea if I can just find one of these 42611-WY050 mentioned above (whilst getting the other 3 good alloys refurbed), and if so where?

thanks for reading, any advice on sorting new alloys / replacement alloy appreciated

Single wheels of this type do appear on eBay from time to time.

But, its entirely possible you don't actually need a new wheel. A good wheel refurbishment specialist can also repair stuff like dents and cracks.

£800 budget is REALLY good.

You can even get Tesla Model 3 wheels. They're very similar specs to OEM Lexus wheels at 18x8.5 ET40, they fit VERY nicely.

Facebook Marketplace would be a good place to start looking for wheels. There is far more listings than on eBay. People are more likely to advertise on Marketplace as it's free unlike eBay.

Here's a set of 4 wheels with Good Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/159898987157845

As for your damaged wheel. Is it not possible to just get it refurbed? Buckled or cracked wheels can be fixed. They will just weld the crack. Finding just one F-Sport wheel will be difficult. They do pop up sometimes. I saw a set of 4 for £300ish but they needed a refurb a few weeks back. Though judging from your air leak, time is not really on your side.
