I don’t keep anything in the boot bar a rain jacket but yesterday was the first time I lowered both rear seats and removed the tonneau cover (a bit of a pain) in order to bring a new bike back home.  After returning the seats back to their upright position this was revealed.  It’s definitely not from off the bike so it must be from the car.  It’s a thin metal, chromed bar about 2’ long and slightly thicker than a bicycle spoke.  One end has a plastic end cap.  Anyone any ideas what it is and where it has come from?

^^ Looks like a wing aerial from a 1970s Ford or Vauxhall to me! 😆

That looks to me like a radio aerial. When I did private hire driving, we had those. You cut it to length depending on the frequency. It then fitted to the base, secured by a grub screw.

Amazing spot.  I hadn’t even realised that an antenna off my array had gone astray.  It certainly has been in the car’s boot but hadn’t realised one of the pieces had worked loose and come off.  Grub screw now tightened.image.thumb.jpg.c44f65b77277b618b07cedfebd129c9d.jpg

Nice Saturn V 🙂

Mine lives in my living room and has survived quite a few tumbles! 🙂

Only got into Lego in January.  Started off with cargo train, then Lunar Lander, Saturn V and Haunted House.  I’ll be ordering the Space Shuttle this Thursday🙂. Found out at Christmas that the two Senior NHS Consultants that my wife works with are into Lego plus an RAF officer who lives a few houses away.  I though if it’s good enough for them it’s good enough for me.
The boy cat likes cargo train whilst the girl cat just wonders what can be so interesting in a train.

Aww, that is so cute 🙂 I wonder what my boy would make of it.

Having spent several thousand pounds on Lego in the last couple of year, be warned that it is very addictive!  The only reason more hasn't appeared yet is because we don't have the room to store them.

😮I didn't realise they were making a space shuttle! I assume you mean this one:

https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/nasa-space-shuttle-discovery-10283

I think I know what my next kit is going to be now 🙂

The last kit we build was this one:

https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/land-rover-defender-42110

Excellent design - quite unusual that it is not scaled for the mini figures - with an impressive 4 speed gearbox and low-high range gearing.

Although, pride of place has to be our Falcon:

Like I said, quite addictive 🙂

Impressive stuff you’ve got there.  The M-Falcon is epic.

Yes, that’s the space shuttle set.  Released tomorrow.

I know what you mean about it being an addictive hobby.

Strangely, this link says it has been retired:

https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/lego-nasa-apollo-saturn-v-21309

but this one says Back Order:

https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/lego-nasa-apollo-saturn-v-92176

even though they look exactly the same?

Bit odd that.  Definitely not one to retire as it’s  awesome although a bid fiddly at times.  The one I recently bought was 92176.  Maybe 21309 has something wrong with a part.🤔

Debit card is poised for release 🙂  Shame it won't arrive before the bank holiday weekend.

Spoke to the missus and she was apparently aware it was coming out but neglected to tell me!

So, thanks for the heads up Peter 👍

Where did you get the Saturn V from? It has been discontinued for a while now.

Direct from Lego online.  The previous code number is discontinued but the new number (92176) is still available.

I think my last two sets have taken nearly 2 weeks to arrive from just across the Channel in the Netherlands.

  • 2 weeks later...

Got mine on Tuesday but haven't had time to build yet, so gonna start today 🙂

I highly recommend the Defender, especially if you like the technical side of lego building.

Overall, not the best build I have ever done, but it was ok.  Some the parts are quite flimsy once put together, such as the horizonal surfaces at the back of the wings and the doors.  The hubble was a nice addition thought and could almost have been a kit on its own.
