That raises  a really interesting manufacturing/marketing/philosophical/legal debate Steve. So from my perspective why not 5 or 7 or even 10? But then I realise it's the question that's wrong. It should be why have a warranty at all in the traditional sense? That would make an interesting sales pitch - "we don't offer you a warranty because you won't need one. " Bold, brave and unique maybe?

Don't think so.

Normal manufacturer warranty is three years and then you can pay for extended warranty if you wish to do so and that's it.

Lexus Relax is available in Europe but not the UK. This automatically extends the warranty by a year if you get the car serviced at the franchised dealer. I enquired about this for my LC but it is not possible and I ended up paying for two extra years warranty for £2,300 or thereabouts.
