RX400h Cat & box Exhaust replacement

Recommended Posts

Wafting through the green lanes of Norfolk yesterday I accelerated over the brow of a hill and boom! The exhaust broke and was dangling on the tarmac, parting as the pipe enters the box on the long section including the cat.

I'm loving owning and driving this car - but found that my go-to online parts supplier (europart.co.uk) had no Lexus exhaust parts listed for my car.

Is this the case? OEM only? Am I really looking at 4 figures GBP for a section of exhaust?

Go to a place that does custom stainless steel exhausts and they'll fabricate one for the car for far less money than Lexus could supply the OEM one.

Google for your local exhaust specialist and /or contact Tony Banks in Leeds Chris.

Wow - super impressed by Tony Banks response.

- has anyone opted for any of their tuning services?

No, but their quotes for a replacement exhaust and catalyst is amazing. And, for what it's worth I have asked if they have considered making a CatLoc? With their expertise in non-imported stainless it should be a breeze. 🤔

Please share the response please Phil, when received.

If you're in Norfolk you could try Power & Performance at Honingham, just outside Norwich (assuming they're still going, I haven't been for several years now). I've had several full stainless systems from them on older Japanese cars, it was cheaper than obtaining and fitting an OE mild steel system.

There also seems to be a place doing Powerflow in Norwich, at Aylsham Way.
