Weird working radio in is250 (2010)

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

no sure if this is the correct place for this thread. Sorry in advance.

Perhaps someone can help me out with my IS250 audio (2010).

Recently the radio stopped working. Following some other threads on this and other forums I did these things:

1. disconnected the Battery, and 10 min later restarted the car

2. after the 1st didn't work, I changed fuses corresponding to rad 1, 2, and 3 to new ones

3. i dried up the amp and disconnected/reconnected.

Still the same. which is:

Just after reconnecting the battery and restarting the car (without igniting yet) the radio works just normal. If I turn the car off and on again (still without igniting the engine) it still works fine. When I ignite the engine the radio does not work i.e. I can still see information on the display, but there is no sound (neither radio, nor buttons 'clicks') and neither AM nor FM wants to turn on (BT and other tabs do not even show up).

When I then turn the car off, and then on again (without the inigition), the radio does not work for around 3-5 min. But then it suddenly starts again and all the BT and other tabs show up on the display.

Very confusing. any tips?

@NemesisUK

it was dry. I did that because I read some post on forums regarding this being an issue.

I did it anyway just in case, same for the fuses. No help at all.

Any ideas?

Was this wet then? Do you have a water ingress problem?

We have a similar fault.. it's pointing towards the amp but with it. Being intermittent.. fault findinging is a pain.. the amp getting cold , damp seems to be the issue.. there is a video in YouTube that says reroute the cables and place the amp in the boot... Or get another working amp and replace..
