Hi Garry and welcome to the LOC.

I’ve never had one fitted to my LS400 as they are factory stainless as standard.

Stainless steel tends to be noisier than mild due to the material used, I’ve seen custom “cat back” systems on eBay for around £400.00  for other Lexus V8 models but no idea on quality or location.

Pretty sure other members will chip in with more info.

HI Garry,

All depends on what it is you exactly require.

Do you need an aftermarket bolt on or are you happy to take it to your local exhaust fabricator? Is it a full header-back, cat-back or just a muffler delete?

£320 for two muffler replacements and new tips in Newport South Wales, here's how it looks:

From the dual cats back with new flanges, optional 3rd cat delete, Y merge pipe, or X pipe, 2 resonators and a rear silencer -  budget around £700. To add headers, allow at least another £2000 to supply/fabricate and fit.

Sorry for the delay in posting an update.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

In the end I had a full stainless steel system fabricated from front cat's back by a company in Huthwaite Nottinghamshire called Stainless Exhaust Specialists who fabricate everything including resonators.

What a job they did, second to none absolute perfection, quality, visually, and Exhaust note discrete but with a hint of power.

It cost £1500 but no comparison to some I have seen.

Hi Garry

My exhaust is showing signs of terminal corrosion so I have been investigating the alternatives myself.

A Lexus system is no doubt very expensive but will be excellent quality, but to improve the v8 growl it appears that a bespoke system is the way forward.

I presume with some investigation there are reputable ones in Nottingham but if you want to travel up to Leeds there are two that have come highly recommended to me. Tony Banks Exhausts and Keltec Exhausts.

To travel even further there is Lexusman on this site who is the go to man for all jobs SC430.

Good luck and let us all know how you get on.

Anthony
