I've had to google the term mentioned above.

Ive had this guy coming around for years and sometimes we buy an item, others we don't

He always has a sad story to tell about his life

They need a pedlars certificate, of course they never do. Its usually a sob story and do you want to buy a duster or some tat.  As with anyone dropped off in nice areas (to knock on doors ) many miles from where they come from caution is advised.
