Audio issues

I can’t say I can hear much of an improvement with the ML. It still sounds tinny and sharp, and like it’s only coming out of one speaker.

^^ That’s very peculiar! I’ve not had a ML audio in a Lexus, but every user on here comments on how great they sound. Something isn’t right, that’s for sure…

No offence meant to the OP, River, but he/she has already rejected one car purely because of the audio system, so I think it's safe to assume that he/she is an audiophile and will see/hear problems that 98% of other people won't even notice.

My ears are 63 years old and have been battered by being at live gigs with some of the loudest bands in the world, such as LED Zeppelin, Deep Purple and so on. I can almost guarantee that I could sit in the same car and think nothing is wrong at all but River's ears are obviously more sensitive than mine.

I can’t believe the OP has again  purchased a car without making sure that the audio system was what they wanted. For someone who is obviously so particular about what they want from their audio system, this surprises me.

Audio and connected services seem to be very important to a few purchasers from some of the posts I have read on here. I enjoy listening to the radio and music but I am not an audiophile. As Herbie says, it is a question of personal tolerance. I do find it somewhat perplexing that you buy a car based on the audio system. There are so many variables in a car - speed - road surface noise - tyres - that I do not think it is necessarily the best place to listen to wonderful music. To build a car around an audio system, seems somewhat odd. As Herbie said, unless there is a fault with the ML system, I would say his 1% to 99% could be changed to 10% / 90%. The car is being bought to transport you from A to B not place you in the Albert Hall.
