GS300 - On Sport, Transmission is stuck in 4th Gear

Hi guys,

Testdrove a Lexus today I am about to purchase. All works fine, drove it 20km and the transmission changes smoothly, no issues.

When in D it goes all the way up to 6th. Nothing is shown on the dashboard in the small round section meant for the gears.

When in S, on manual mode, f.e. I am driving in D, move to S, and it is in 6th gear, it shows again 4th gear. It does all the tricks with the kickdowns and stuff, but it shows 4th gear.

When I push it up or down, the number changes, but generally for some reason, it prefers to show the number 4.

Is it how it is supposed to be? The car is clear, about 120tkm miles, transmission fluid has not been changed at least for the last 45tkm miles, I hope it has been changed before. It functions with no issues, at least for the 15 miles I testdrove it.
