How do I disconnect the temperature probe from my old battery ?

Hi folks,

I'm stuck (literally). I've bought a new 12V Battery for my LS600h and it has two extra unfamiliar fittings. I believe these are a vent and a temperature probe. I guess the one I can't disconnect is the temperature probe as it has a cable. It is stopping me removing the Battery, so the car is immobile. What's the trick to getting it out ? I've tried Panasonic but can't find anything. It's faintly ridiculous to not be able to change a Battery, but that's where I am. Any ideas out there ?

Thanks Rod

Are you able to post a picture?

The vent pipe should just pull out. The temp sensor depends what type it is, either there is an electrical connector which makes it easy to disconnect the wiring, or the wire just goes into a channel which is taped over, which you can remove and lift up the wiring - you need to be careful not to just pull on it otherwise you could break the wiring/sensor.

A photo of how it's currently fixed on there may help (and a general photo or two of the car would be nice as well) but it's usually just stuck on and you should be able to pry it off then tape it to the new Battery.

EDIT: OK, forget what I said about it being stuck on. It's a good job Colin's here
