Im looking to ask someone who has sat nav on a 2000 model

some questions about it as mine is playing up can you suggest anyone to PM

Does the GPS logo in the top left hand corner stay on all the time ?

why does it change colour ?

Cannot remember if it changes colour. I thought the symbol comes on when it has a signal and off when it doesn't.

Make sure you don't have anything on the rear shelf as the aerial is there and you will restrict the signal.

What version of CD do you have?

I think its the original CD, it reads the C.D fine, but the logo only comes on every now and again.

Cannot remember the diagnostic sequence for the CD version. I'll have a play tonight and let you know. There should be a way to list all the sats that are being tracked.

Are you sure there is nothing above/below on the rear shelf? Have you upgraded the speakers?

Isn't it green means I have a satellite and red means I don't have a satellite, I'm working on dead reckoning?

Yeah but what about when the whole logo disappears !

Cannot find the diag mode for the IS200 CD Sat Nav. It's not the same as the GS procedure because the IS doesn't have all the buttons.

However from what I can see:

No GPS logo means no GPS signal

Green logo means full signal and fully working

Red logo means receiving a GPS signal but not tracking 3 or more sats and therefore cannot get a position.

If you are not getting a green logo nearly all the time then there is a problem. Do you have window tints?
