Hi all. Just ordered an UX300e Takumi on a personal lease - actually for my wife. This is our first Lexus so looking forward to a change from the usual German cars we have had over the years. Despite the negative reviews the car will provide just fine as our 2nd car - main car is a X5. Two 30 round trip commutes to work, 5 miles school run and odd trip to London. Best of all it was relatively cheap for an EV on lease. March delivery so a long wait.

Lexus cars seem to be reviewed very negatively for some reason. Most reviews only rate the RC like the one I have 3/5, but it's honestly a great car. I'm sure you'll enjoy the UX in the same vein. If you can't wait until March, perhaps you can swap the X5 for something :wink3:

I had a brand new UX300e as a courtesy car on Friday and I wasn't impressed at all.

Very small and cramped, no leg room in the back, poor boot space, big price tag and poor range.

Before I knew what car I was getting I asked if there would be any mileage limit on it as we were planning on visiting family and would be doing a round trip of about 230 miles. The receptionist said that there's no mileage limit on their courtesy cars normally but, because I was getting the EV I may have to revise my plans as it only has a 135-140 mileage range and I may get there but not be able to get back.

Of course, you have to put this in context of our car being an RX, which is one of the largest cars they do and I was being loaned one of the smallest cars they do so it was never going to be great for me, but even taking that into account the price and mileage range are disappointing to say the least.

Like you say the car does have a number negative points and we would certainly not be getting one if it were our main car but if anything we are looking for a small premium EV - most are too big for our needs and in terms of price this is somewhat irrelevant when leasing a car, it’s the monthly cost that’s important and the current deals on the UX300e make it excellent value - circa £100- 150 cheaper per month v completion. I suspect very few will be sold but instead leased.
