Boot Problems

Ever since I got my IS-F, the boot will not open, No by the button on the key's or on the dash or the boot itself!

the only way to open it is with the physical key, 

I have tried the button in the glove box, so it is not that? 

anyone had this problem and fixed it? does the boot have a fuse I haven't noticed! 

Any help will be great

Is there a disable button inside the glove box?  My is250 had one of those. And by leaving it pressed in would cause all the things you have listed.

As above, there's a button in the glove compartment. I did it myself once.

There is a dealer option to completely disable the remote boot opening, it could be the previous owner chose this setting if it has never worked for you.

I think that even if you disable that functionality, the button on the dashboard still works.

 

I don't believe there is a fuse specifically for the motor - it gets power from the body ECU in the driver's door (if that didn't have power then none of the locks would work). It suggests there is a problem with the lock/motor assembly itself, wiring or the glovebox switch that disables the motor it is fault and is electrically stuck on.

The key mechanism uses a physical cable to the lock which explains why that still works.

Thank you, the switches for the other windows dont work from my driver door either? Wonder its its linked some how? 

Looks like ill have to look behind the door card , see if anything is amiss

@Matthew1995 for the windows, have you disconnected the Battery recently ? If so, go to each window/door individually and do this process.

Press the switch to lower the window, once it's lowered right down, hold for 3 seconds. Then press the switch to raise the window, once raised, hold for 3 seconds. This sets the limits for each window. Once done you can use your driver's doorcard controls for each window. I've had to do it a couple of times when disconnecting the Battery.

It might sound trivial, Double check you haven't got the child lock on.

I have a similar-ish issue sometimes.  intermittently I will go to open the boot and the whole circuit is unresponsive, the boot switch, key button and dash button all do nothing and I have to open it with the key.  Seems to be more prevalent on cold mornings or nights.  I tried replacing the physical boot latch/actuator thing but no effect.
