Recommendation on upgrading H11 halogen bulbs

Recommended Posts

Hi

I was thinking on upgrading the OEM H11 low beam headlights on my 2019 IS 250 SR and i've seen mixed opinions and would like to see if anyone can recommend me a brand/model which is better than the original ones for this specific halogen bulb.

The ones i've seen recommended are:

- Philips WhiteVision ultra

- Osram Cool blue intense

- H11 Twenty20 Daylight

- Osram night breaker laser

Thanks in advance.

I can’t comment on the bulbs but I believe you need to have specific ones due to the way the low beam are housed and the beam pattern.

One alternative is you could upgrade the entire headlight unit to something like VLAND or something else and this would give you LED lights and indicators. They are pretty much plug and play also.

you can DIY for them with a few hours spare on a weekend but take it somewhere if you’re not confident!

Was planning to do this upgrade a bit more in the future but at the minute just checking if there is any better halogen bulb out there and anyone can recommend from their experience.

I assume not problem passing MOT with the VLAND, right?

The funny thing is there was a few posts saying that the VLANDS may technically fail due to the DRL bulb being fixed voltage and not being able to dim at all.  However many fellow members have had the VLANDS pass an MOT without issue, mine is due next year so i won’t know til then. The specialist I take my car to for its MOT isn’t particularly over the top so it’ll vary which garage you take it to!

they will need adjusting for height out of the box so if that’s untouched those will no doubt cause a fail if not adjusted correctly

I replaced my bulbs and found they were not H11 but they are D4S fitting. My car is a 2010 f sport. Had to have the bumper removed to get it sorted out.

I bought h11s and when the bumper and headlamps were taken off. Found it was d4s not h11s.

I have osram night breaker Lasers on my car.
