Help Required plz.

ABS and brake warning light come on intermitently.............OBD does not pick up fault

I clear fault but next day it comes on after about 15min driving

Hi Tim and welcome to the LOC.

Some generic code readers don’t work on Lexus, Toyota Techstream is the factory diagnostics, you can obtain the software through certain sources 😉

Obviously without codes it’s educated guesswork but check your O2 sensors as these have been known to cause this fault especially as the fault re-appears within 15 minutes of driving pointing towards O2 sensor heater failure which you can check with a multimeter.

I’ve just resolved a similar issue myself. My code reader did pick up on the heated O2 sensors, it was very confusing because it turned out to be a faulty coil pack. I agree with Steve, without official diagnostics it feels like reading tea leaves at times.

It would be interesting if you would clear the faults when it does comes up and then continue to drive to see if it comes back again when at operating temperature.

Does your fault reader also have a live data stream? That sometimes will provide some more information towards diagnosis.
