Wanted Thinkware SD card

I would echo Peniole's advice except to say, stay away from SanDisk. They don't have a good reputation in the SSD market so I'd be wary about their cards as well.

Much like Lexus don't manufacture wipers, batteries, brake pads and so on, Thinkware do not manufacture their own cards; they just buy them in and slap their own badge on.

Samsung have an excellent reputation and almost always come at or very near the top in reviews and tests and the ones below are highly recommended:

You're right on SSDs (I use samsung for my machines) but sandisk SD cards have been flawless for me for the last two decades in multiple devices including cameras. Just make sure you don't buy counterfeit ones. A lot of the bad rep comes from those.

Fair enough P.

I must be honest and say that my experience only comes from the SSDs. I was a self-employed computer tech for 10 years and amongst the professional forums I was a member of, SanDisk had a bad reputation so I just steered clear of any SanDisk products.

I would save your money and get a better spec and also made for high number of read write cycles like this (https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Endurance-Monitoring-Dashcams-MicroSDXC/dp/B07NY23WBG?th=1) at less than half the price with double the storage.

I'm tempted to give the 64gb size a try for the sake of £12.22 if there are problems with it not working in the dashcam I assume it won't damage the camera???

The 64gb Thinkware version are £50 that's a lot of money. The Thinkware manual say's the camera can only write to 64gb.

oh the samsungs are not that much more btw 16 pounds for the 64Gb, that is if they are in stock

https://www.samsung.com/uk/memory-storage/memory-card/pro-endurance-microsd-card-with-sd-adapter-64gb-mb-mj64ga-eu/

Either way, on amazon pay attention to the seller. I wouldn't trust third party sellers. I think direct from amazon the sandisk is 12.29 (only 7p more). Sansung can't find it direct from amazon,so above link included but they're out of stock.

if it can only write to 64Gb then the 128 might not even register

unless you jam it in wrong, I don't see how a storage card can hurt the camera
