SC 430 P0125 issue

Hey everyone,

First post here of 2022, I hope you all are keeping well?

I have a question, my SC 430 has a code 'P0125' coming up, "insufficient coolant temperature".

I have noticed over the last few weeks that the car starts to blows cold air if I am in the car for over 30 mins or so. (which is not ideal when it is 2oC outside).

Am I correct in thinking this could be the thermostat that needs to be replaced? I have checked coolant levels and I have had the 02 sensors replaced.

Thanks in advance, Thomas 🙂

Hi Thomas

Happy New Year to you!

I am presuming you have checked it has coolant. It could be the thermostat or blockage in the coolant circulation.

I would go for the thermostat and Rev Lexus put a YouTube clip out a couple of days ago on changing it.

Good luck mate

Thanks Ant, any chance if you know the 'Gates' thermostat is OEM?

Hi Thomas

I do not know the manufacturer of the genuine Lexus thermostat but I am aware of the manufacturer Gates and believe their products are reliable.

What is the cost difference, if it is significant I personally would not hesitate to fit a Gates product?

Regards, Anthony
