Where to rest fuel filler cap while refuelling?

Recommended Posts

Put in my first tank full of fuel, ignoring the £100 for a moment, where are you meant to locate the cap while fuelling, surely not dangling on its plastic lanyard which is a great recipe for scratching the paintwork - please tell me I'm missing something obvious.

There is a holder for it on the fuel filler flap.

Taken from the manual:-

You are missing reading the Handbook sunshine.

You will never make TrebleVeteran unless you change your ways.

To be fair, I’ve never seen a fuel cap holder quite like that one.  Tried it today and it worked swell!

That's actually a clever idea.
The old style on the back of the filler cover, you could easily close the cover and forgetting to screw in the filler cap.
With the version in the picture, the filler cover won't close due to the filler cap obstructing the hinge, so you can't forget.
