Hi,

spent 5 months working in malaysia a couple of years ago.

It depends on what you are looking for... for ease, I;d go with a package thing...

It's a wonderful country... has a few problems with infrastructure in places, but I enjoyed my time there.

thats good.. i would be dissapointed if i could not find a noodle bar

but which country did you enjoy the most?

hard question :

but probably hong kong, there is so much to see and do, and never enough time to do it all

its the sort of place where you could have seen a million photos of, but still go and be astounded

When is the best time to go ? weather wise  B)

JDM like the idea of a mini meet

going to look for some brochures tomorrow

john

john,

when i went about few wks ago(march), the weather is not cold or too hot if u know what i mean & no rain.

if u like hot weather, summer/spring gets REALLY hot & humid but it always rains in summer, moonsoon/typhoon season. sometimes the typhoon in summer gets really bad that u cant leave your house/hotel but not always & u get local floods. thats what happend when i went few yrs ago in summer, it rained nearly every day i was there.

In HK.......... got to mong kok, there's a 4/5 floor centre that does all sorts of pc software and dvds all dodgy. There's also a few streets that sell car bits like stereos and air fresheners ?? I'm sure they do lots of TRD and TOM's stuff too (Near the Train station).... wouldn't mind going back there myself :(

Thanks mark,

so if i went about april/may time it should be about right, warm and no rain

sounds good

will have to have chat with ya sometime about your trip

john

in april it be alright & in may i wouldnt say no rain, just not much at all but still be ok to go then, only in june/july/august season that is worst with monsoon/typhoon. sept - march be ok too without much rain & not cold or too hot.

chat with u one time for anything else mate

OLI -you talking about the shopping mall, i didnt know dvd's are all dodgy there? i know few yrs ago there was LOTS of pirate VCD sold all over hongkong but now is almost non existent as geniune VCD are at knockdown prices.

Toms TRD shop i went to is in mongkok also with other car accesories shops & also a street full of markets there where lots of tourists go be worth going to but is very busy.

the place is the golden arcade, catch the mtr to mong kok and its signposted from the station, mong kok is also superb for car bits if you know the right streets...

if you go, do the tourist bit and pop down to stanley market, although expensive worth a giggle and pop in to the Mugglers in on the beach, ask for raymond and say ryan sent you im sure you'll get some free drinks :)

I lived there for 8 years and it's a superb place, with things to do dependiong on your budget, if you've got time speak to the hotel and arrange a day shopping in China (shen zhen as the prices are stupidly cheap...

Drinking, insomnia in lan quai fong is excellent, great live band and open late, wan chai has dusk till dawn ith more great live music and carngies is always a giggle with everyone dancing on the bar !!

you'll have a great time as there is 24 hour licensing if you know where to go, beaches, shopping and site seeing, the views from the peak are great and the old peak tram is still running....

if your staying in town grappa's in pacific place is great and if you really fancy a treat and don';t mind maxing your credit card try the chinese restaurant called table one....

if you like seafood you cant go past llama island (just off hong kong island)

i lived there for three months and it is truly one of the most beautiful exciting places ive ever been.

even in three months i didnt see everything i wanted to - shopping scenery dining going out culture - it has everything. :)
