O2 Sensor on the IS300h

Recommended Posts

Just been thinking about general maintenance for the IS300h.

I remember the O2 sensor (bank1 sensor1/2)was a common fault that used to flag up on the IS250 around 70k mileage.

Does the IS300h ever need the O2 downstream sensor replaced?

Downstream sensors are normally reliable (apart from the heater circuit). It's the upstream sensors that get lazy or fail.

Nothing different about the IS300h, the upstream sensor will get lazy and slightly impact mpg from around 60k miles and fail between then and 100k miles (this is a generalisation).

I do wander if this could account for my relatively poor mpg I do also suspect sometimes the fuel is too lean which is why I brought up the issue of replacing O2 sensor.
