Headlights

Recommended Posts

Hi all, we are taking a test drive in a UX next week, it's a day time test so we won't be able to monitor the performance of the headlights.

We live in quite a rural area so good headlight performance is vital to us.

I've watched lots of YouTube videos of the car and read quite a few reviews, non of which have mentioned the headlight performance.

Any feedback would be much appreciated

Thanks.

Ask to borrow the car overnight or even a weekend as the cost of the investment is too great for you to rely on the view of others John.

John,I agree with the other John that you need to have the UX overnight to see the headlights for yourself. My Lexus dealer was very accommodating and loaned me the car for 48 hours and I’m sure yours would do the same,as for my view on the headlights they are the best I’ve had!Let us know how you get on.

The Takumi and some hi spec models have 3-Eye LED Headlamps but  lower spec. models have Bi-LED Headlamps, so make sure you test drive the UX with the same spec as you intend to buy.

I have the Bi LED on my F sport and they do me fine tail lights have LED about 120 i believe but the indicator bulbs are incandescent. I would suggest if your concerned inform the dealer you want a 24 hr test drive, im sure they will oblige. Its a lovely vehicle.

Another vote for the '3 eye LED' setup. Brightest headlights I've ever known, and enable a very subtle difference between low and high beam. No indication from oncoming traffic that they are being dazzled either.

Lexus do seem to change the model specs which offer this, so check carefully.
