Hey.
Has anyone accidentally crunched in to gear only to be followed with a smell of burning/singed hair?

This morning going for an nice an early blast down the road i changed from 3rd to 4th at high revs and had a bit of a crunch going in. Very shortly after the car had an over powering smell of burning hair. Seems 4th likes to crunch at high revs so i assume new gearbox oil is needed along with a possible synchro fix later on but the smell has really got me stumped.

Anyone ever encountered this before?

Not the smell, but mine also does this sort of 5000rpm+.. it doesn't like you being aggressive when changing to that gear.

I wouldn't worry too much about the gearbox oil either. Made no difference when I had mine done.
