RR Racing team-up or Group buy!?

Recommended Posts

Interested in headers as I was waiting for UK manufactured ones for ages.

The problem is... I live in Northern Ireland and I am still looking for garage to fit them, it's not an easy task that can be handled by some random garage.

I will get in touch if all goes well.

Any reputable garage should be able to do it really, especially one who does tuning. I know it's a fairly difficult job and involves dropping the subframe and some of the header bolts are very difficult to access, but any decent mechanic can do it. If you can find a Toyota or Lexus specialist then even better, but it doesn't have to be.

If it were me, I would be looking for recommendations of a specialist tuning garage as they are most likely to have the hands on experience swapping headers, exhausts even engines etc.

Now then all. Getting ready to make an order now.

Can any of the interested parties please contact me (DMs) and let me know what exactly you want to add to the order. I'll need full item description exactly as it is on RR racing website, full item number and also the model and year of your car (important).

@Arqum can you let me know if you still want the intake from the performance pack and if you want your own OBD mapping thingy too 😎

Once i have the full order I'll get prices, shipping and estimated import tax before we push the button.

Hoping for a decent discount 😎😎

Apologies Dan, but I'm also going to rescind my order. I changed my mind when I read up a bit more about the USRS' potential to squeak.

Had them on mine for 4.5 years now. Not a single noise!

Up to you though 😎

A few of the US guys moaning about squeak, but RR took them back and fitted to other cars without squeak.

Its down to torqueing up correctly - or so Rafi explained. I have a set ready to go on, just going to ensure my mechanic follows the instructions to a T.

Lol, it's like you can tell I'm on the fence about them. You might sway me.

Do you like them from a personal experience standpoint?

Hey!

I've had them on for so long I can barely remember what the car was like without them!!

When you first put them on you will notice that it does firm up the road feel over larger bumps and gives a much more positive steering response. However, within a few days, everything just feels normal and they feel like part of the stock setup.

The main thing is, zero inner tyre wear which my car was plagued with based on previous owner purchase invoices.

My car runs a little softer now due to the Airlift kit but even though, you can feel the usrs doing their part.

Well worth the investment! 😎

Sounds like your experience is in-line with what most people are saying. I'm not sure if the RCF suffers from inner tyre wear, if anything it's the outer part of the tyre that's wearing fastest on mine so far.

My main "problem" with the front end, is it sometimes feels a little bit vague, and when turning the wheel quickly there's a subtle delay before the car actually grips and starts to turn. This is especially noticeable on narrow twisty roads where you're making quick adjustments left and right. This might just be normal weight transfer and an expected side-effect of having softish suspension, but we will see how much it tightens everything up. Anyhow this is a fairly minor complaint for how good the car is overall, and if the USRS makes a decent difference in this area I'll be very happy.

Thanks for the info. My order's back in btw.

That sensation you describe is why I ordered them. I also have a bit of weaving under hard braking...

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's not like the car weaves from side to side, it just doesn't feel quite as solid and stable as you'd like under hardish braking, especially with little bumps and imperfections on the road. I actually noticed this the very first time I drove the car on the test drive, and even asked them to do a wheel alignment as I felt like the front end had a bit of side to side pull.

  • 4 weeks later...

Is the group buy still going ahead? Not fussed if it’s not as actually I’m asking as I changed my mind about the most exp item.

I know first hand it can be prove difficult to organise / round everything up.
