What's Going On With My Windscreen?

Recommended Posts

Hello all

Just joined, but have been actively looking at site for the past 4 months.

Got my IS200 Sport in Dec 2003. Loved to bits. Best buy I ever made.

There is only one thing that I have found to be a bit of a pain.

Its the windscreen wipers.

When in the rain the wipers don't clear the screen on the return wipe. Cleaned with Autoglem and this was fine for a few days. It then started to go back to the same unclear windscreen.

Spoken to Lexus Stockport and they said that it could be that screen was not cleaned properly when they had the car ready for me.

Asked what they used and the service manager said white spirits. So got home and cleaned it. Still the same problem

It looks like on the return wipe that the blade is not sitting on the screen, jump marks and there is also that rubber brrr sound on the return. (mad i know - but want to enjoy driving even in the rain)

Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks

Ash

methylated spirits or Isopropyl Alcohol are better than white spirits

I tried all of those and didn't seem to make any difference...

Then did my sunglasses with them and hey.. miracle.. I can see B)

 :ban-em: :iraqi-info-minister: Got coat.... Clunk (door closing behind me)

you didn't say wether they were new wipers/blades or not.

I clean mine with white spirit/meths (whatever is to hand) then rain x it and it's great.

If you've not got new wipers or have got new blades get new wipers. I find replacement blades aren't very good
