Sports Grille Mesh

hey guys,

i just decided to take a photo of the nasty chip type thinigs in the sports grille of my car, and to ask if anyone has any suggestions as to what i can do to make it better (there are several areas on the grille like the one in the photo)!

I don't really want to have to rub down the mesh and then repaint it, but i did considor using a black stone chip repair kit, and then respraying the whole mesh in black again.

HELP!!!!!!!!

Not too keen on doing that, as i have only had the grille on there for about 4 maybe 5 weeks.

nice coat of smooth hammerite will do the trick :)

hadn't thought of that.

was too concerned with there being little pits where the paint had chipped away and then been painted over.

I'm going to get some plain metal grill (I think thats what a certain club bully has )

Also going to put it in place of the stuff between the foglights to.

To be honest i never even looked at how the mesh was held on, i just put the grille on, and stodd back and admired my mechanical genius! :P

How easy is it to get the 'sport' badge off it to re-attach to the new mesh?

Not sure how easy it comes off. But if not you can get them for about £4 from LexusEdinburgh.

Oh well, may end up ditching the sport badge aswell! I'm too tight to pay out like that!

You can pull off the front part of the badge but not the backing plate,then all you have to do is silicone it onto the new mesh...........Voila

Wonder if i still have my original mesh ?

I only swapped it to get rid of the sport badge (which i chucked)

Have to have a rummage coz i don't think it was broken at all.

Rummage = job for the weekend :)
