FWIW my RX450h has averaged about 34mpg in the 3 and a half years I have had it. This can drop to about 25mpg in mid winter if the car is used for short runs and the petrol motor has to run more to warm the cabin up. On longer runs 38mpg is often seen and on a round trip to Edinburgh it averaged 38mpg. It also does slightly less to the gallon on very hot days as the air con works harder and drains the traction Battery quicker. It has to be said though that a different driving style is needed for hybrids to get the best out of them, but this is soon learned.
