I have just moved house & my drive is a steep hill, if I reverse down & try to go up again it takes about 5 seconds for the transmision to change. Do I need an oil change, if so can I do it my self. The car is 1991 370,000 full service by Lexus, I have put 6,000 miles on from when I bought it a year a ago

Many Thanks

Alan

my guess is that you're a bit low on oil level. if you drive forward down the hill then change into reverse to go back up, does it still take 5 secs to engage? i recon the angle the car's at affects the oil level, and this in turn affects the pressure build-up.
