Take a look at Autocar magazine this week.All the info on the new Is200 and other Lexi including 2.2 diesel four. And before the anti Diesel brigade starts,Have they actually driven any of the new generation of Diesel e.g Jaguar Xtype.Also there are rumours of a Diesel Lambo Gallardo with the V10 lump out of the Toureg (did i spell it right?) :D The bloke in charge of Lexus says the UK is Lexus's Target for the next few years as sales here havent grown as in other markets.

Diesel's have come a long way even in the last 2 years and have to be worth a serious look, I'd have one just if the filler didn't cut out every half litre !!

I'm sure Tesco's staff have got a compilation CCTV tape of me getting :tsktsk: frustrated every time I fill up! :duh:

I read here some time ago about that and from day 1 I have been inserting the filler gun into the slot upside down and it works perfectly.

Four, as in four cylinder? Surely not!

Lexus must never launch a car less than 6 cylinders!

I suppose it'll just be the engine in the Avensis?

The diesel engine we put in the Avensis is the 2.0l D4d. This cannot be knocked as it has amazing power and huge torque!!

Thats sales in the UK but compared to the US Europe and the Far East it is the poorest market

Haven't Lexus already said they don't want to put in a 4 cylinder diesel.

I thought there was talk about using the 3.0 BMW engine which is excellent.

Thought the way forward in all future models was hybrids?

What with rx400 gt350 and massive ls450 to comeover next 3 years.

Would make sense! Id prefer a hybrid to a modern tank.
