Selling An Is200 Sport

Recommended Posts

My wife has decided that the IS200 has to go. It is costing too much money and is not getting used enough. We want to sell it and pay off our loan then buy a cheaper car.

Where would be the best place to sell an 03 Is200 , exchange and mart ? , sell back to a dealer , or a car mag or any other suggestions. I would imagine most people would prefer to buy such a new car from a dealer so privatly might be a problem ?

Cheers

Selling back to the dealer may be the quickest, but also the least profitable.

Advertising in Auto trader would be your best bet, but as always, expect time wasters, and cover your backside for 'scams'

I advertised mine on Autotrader website for 2 weeks and got no calls. I then changed my price and re-advertised it in Autotrader magazine and website. I had 3 phonecalls from people interested and about 5-7 calls from agencies giving me some bull that they had someone waiting to buy my car! Don't bother with these people its a waste of time/money as my colleagues and friends found out.

Finally on Sunday I got a genuine call from a nice chap in Birmingham who ask a few questins then said can I come see it this week. He turned up today and we did a deal.

Over the last 10 years ,i've sold all my cars in AutoTrader, its the only paper worth using and your get the best price :D .

Using the AutoTrader can rule your life, you need to be by the phone at all time to get "that call" and have the car clean and ready to sell.

The quickest way to sell ,is to go down to your local Lexus dealer, they will offer a price on the spot, but it will be a £1000 or more lower than retail  .

The choice is yours, quick sale ,main dealer or AutoTrader for best price ;) .
