on the Mini ITX if you disable the onboard network connector and the option to boot from it in the bios settings the board will boot up much quicker, handy for incar PC :) also if you disable the firewire connection (unless your going to be using it) Windows XP can no longer create a network bridge, which you dont want

all sorted..

got the router colin suggested,, plugged the dell into that via cat 5.

then added the car pc to the router via wireless..

then added a laptop to the router via wireless.

as for file sharing, main problem was i didnt have a log on passwrd setup..

is there not a way that i can share files without having to log onto windows at every time i boot up. im th eonly one bloody using these machines so to me its pointless having to log on..

I dont have any log on passwords to any of my machines either

just set windows to log on automatically into administrator privledged accounts

make sure they are all on the same network ie MSHOME

and it all should be fine

Routers are cool :)

i'll try that when i get home then. cant sya ive seen that,, in xp you can set up users, with or without passwords.

if i just have one user,,me,, and have no password then it will boot up straight to windows,, else with a password it will wait for me to log on
