OK guys, let's assume I'm buying something from the US - my car is a granite sky model.

Now looking at the pics their equivalent is the Graphite Grey Pearl - are these the exact same colour?

Any ideas?

TIA

I gave them my 3 digit paint code, and they got it spot on.. That should do it

Open bonnet, and right at the back of the engine bay just under the windscreen in the middle is a small silver plate.. bob's ya uncle there it is!

or if you check the UK paint codes its on there:

1c6 Granite Sky IS, RX

See what you mean - that's completely different - will hang fire for now as that's very strange - I've got some pics in my garage where it looks very blue and then when I gave it a through going over recently it's gone much darker - it may be a better idea then to ship the part in unpainted and then let the guys over here paint it - that way if it doesn't match up they can sort it.

Thanks for the heads up there Yemgi - you could have saved me a lot of money just now!

I got my parts done via Lextasy who got it spot on, but then a local paintshop painted my old grill with the same code and it looked different.

I found out it was something to do with there is more than one Kensington green, and how the paint was mixed, you'll need to give them the year and make of your car.

I.E: Ford has a kensington green, but this is different to the Lexus Kensington green

Thanks Whitie, I might just risk it then since I might order these bits from Lextasy and that puts my mind at rest that hopefully they'll get it right there - If I bring it back home the colour could be out like Yemgi's

The paint code is the paint code, same in all countries. The names are normally different in different countries and even between Toyota and Lexus brands. Never use names just the code.

If you quoted the correct paint code and the product doesn't match that is because they didn't mix it correctly not because they are from a different country.
