not something i have done but after seeing my car in the garage having work done on it.. it looks like top and bottom hose off ..all the fan casing and fan disconnect expansion tank hose then all the bolts from the mounting brackets.. there will be some wiring to disconnet from fan as well..

I have just had the same problem but took the car to a local dealer. What he did was replace the core, which was completely shot at. Having seen the old one, I can't see soldering being the answer.

There is a specialist company (in the yellow pages) that supplies new radiator cores. You might like to have a word with them. A new one from Lexus is £300.

It would depend on where the leak is, on mine - it was at the top of the rad, once removed, I was able to weld/braize the damaged part and so far the rad has been OK ever since, this was about 8 months ago. Not leaked since.

Get the rad out is not to bad, will only take about 1/2 hour to do -

Remove the fixing points at the top of the rad, also remove the pipes from the top of the rad. Then goto the bottom, remove the engine cover and then the 2 smaller pipes that go into the core, this is for the Intercooler for the power steering - well on mine, not sure if the UK GS has this, to the drivers side, remove the bigger pipe. Once you have removed this, disconnect the fan if electric. If Hydrolic, remove the fixing blots - 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom, and remove the bottle for the fuild on the the right hand side of the rad, then simlpy lift the rad out.

Took me about 2 hours in total, including the repair
