Paint Work

Recommended Posts

Ive got a NEW IS300 and over the last few weeks have noticed that around the roof area mainly, when the light catches it I can see blemishes in the paintwork.

My car colour is platinum ice and in total i have seven blemishes (they look like watermarks/birth marks). I have tried polishing them out with Auto Glym Super Resin Polish and even used an abrasive light scratch remover polish first, but these marks are still there.

When i rub my fingers over them you can't feel anything, its almost like the mark was there before the clear lacquered was applied.

Anyone else had this problem on a NEW car?

And what is it, can they be removed??

I shall tell the main dealer, but would rather tackle the problem first myself.

I wont even start on the subject of the car covered in deep scratches when i got it either. :offtopic:

i would complain... get it to the dealers and get them to rectify it.. you have bought perfection and you should expect to see it.

Also abrasives you should be carefull of... if you make a mess of it they will not cover it.

i was told that they were heat spots

due to the covering that they get shipped with

and air bubbles !!

take it back to lexus and they will remove them

using a heat process

as this is under the laquer do not try and polish out !

worth getting a crayon or marker pen and ringing them

as they only seem to show up under certain conditions

Thanks for your reply :)

Heat Spots? I shall speak to the dealer about these and ask how they go about removing them.

Did you have the same problem then?

These marks range from about half and inch to 3 inches long
