Paul, I just renewed with Direct Line and there was a bug in their computer system where once we put into the computer that the car was over 200bhp it buggered up the alarm info on the computer, so even though it was happy with the Lexus factory fit up to 200bhp, as soon as we went over that something cocked up and the computer started saying that proof was needed that a CAT1 alarm was fitted.

They fixed the problem that day - maybe the same sort of thing has happened here?

Sounded more like a dodgy data issue at their end than a software issue since they fixed it so quickly.

That's their evaluation ref number - it's listed in the "Category 1 Alarm/Immobiliser" section so I think we're safe (otherwise my insurance just went up **** creek :P)

on this it says is200/300 T2 does that thatcham cat 2?

Dont panic Mr.Mainwaring, we're quite safe.

As aido says, "T2" is their reference code.

The IS200 DEFINITELY has a Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser.

Cheers

Lofty.
