Wires From Boot/12v Power In Boot?

Recommended Posts

I've got a MKIII, and I would like to run my electric coolbox. The only problem I've got is, nowhere to plug it in! So far as I can see, there's no obvious opening 'twixt' boot and cabin where I can run my cigarette lighter extension lead. I guess it would be possible to make some sort of opening around the speaker in the centre of the rear shelf, but is there a better/easier option?

Failing that, is there somewhere in the wiring in the boot I can tap into, to give me a 12v supply? Switched would be best, but I could live with unswitched.

Regards,

Martin

if you only want it on with the ingnition, try the bulb failure detector or the fuel pump, or even the boot open motor. one of them will do it, and you might find a permenant live if you run a tester around the connections, but make sure it's not part of a sensor circuit! also, consider the load. i don't know what your cooler takes, but it's more than a headlight bulb i expect, so don't overload an existing circuit. and if you don't know what you're doing, wait for someone else to tell you exactly where to connect it! lexus electronics are complex!
