New Is200 Se

Recommended Posts

Apologies if this has been posted before, havent been on much recently..

Got a flyer today from Lexus trying to sell me the 'new' IS200 SE...

The differences are full leather interior (yummy), the 11 spoke 17" alloys, and 'new rear light clusters'.. plus a new colour...

Oh, and if you order before 30th June, you get 3 years free servicing..

i've got to agree...the 11 spokes really stink!

My current IS is the 2004 version, so i had to wait till november to pick it up. when it arrived it had vaguely smoked lamps and lighter silver dials. Great! Except some of the silver bits are still the dark silver. I thought not changing all the silver bits was a bit naff!

My previous 02 plate IS seemed much better built.

Lexus seem to be raiding the bottom of the parts bin at the moment to get rid of the remaining IS shells before the new one in 12-18 months time.

I think them new alloys look ok with the new colour, but would look rather odd on the good old colours. However 3 years free servicing, Full leather and armrest are nice.

Colin, I was speaking to one of the tech's at Notts yesterday and he said that they have the same problem as the B&M one's regarding engaging reverse etc. They've had no-one complain as the people buying them just expect it to be a 'little' stiff!!!

Think he preferred my B&M one though as his exact words when he tried it were 'Oh yes!'

OK so they also put the price up for a new one.

I think i saw the price of the SE at just above £23k.

I think ill keep mine  although i still fancy an IS300 :winky:

I'm glad I got mine when I did :)

Don't like full leather, had it 2 cars ago, cold in the winter and hot in the summer, and it's too slippy slidey on the tight bends, prefer the 5 spoke wheels, and as far as the armrest - I think you need to be built like an orangutan to get your left elbow anywhere near it ?

The base price for the SE is £20,770. The prices only went up a couple of hundred pounds.
