Haynes Manuals For Lexus

Recommended Posts

after the recent interest in haynes or other manuals, i wondered what haynes would say

here is the reply

Dear Mr dobedo

Thank you for your interest in Haynes Car Service and Repair Manuals.

Unfortunately we do not currently produce a Manual for your vehicle. On average we produce 8 new and 8 updated Car Service and Repair Manuals per year along with approximately 5 new and 5 updated Motorcycle Service & Repair Manuals.

When looking at our publishing programme for the forthcoming year we take into consideration new car registrations both in the UK and abroad, Trade and private customer requests and the vehicle model. (Some models/makes are simply not 'DIY' compatible.)

Under normal circumstances we consider covering models that are 3 years old and whose sales have exceeded 50,000 units.

We are currently logging the amount of requests we have for the Lexus models and this will be taken into consideration when the publishing programme is next under review.

Kind Regards

Rachael Smith

i spoke to haynes last summer to see if there were any plans to produce one for the IS as i was planning on releasing my own version in conjunction with tdi or hyper sr. i was told about their review program as detailed above. unfortunately i've had to forget about it as it was too time consuming.

I sent an email the other day, this is the reply i got:

Hi Nick,

Thanks for your enquiry.

It's true that we do log all individual requests for manuals not yet

published and take these into account when deciding our forward

publishing programme. Unfortunately we also have to take account of the

number of a particular model sold in the UK, and in the case of the IS

that figure is nowhere near high enough (just under 30,000 to date).

We will of course continue to monitor sales and customer requests, but I

cannot see that we will be producing a manual in the foreseeable future.

Sorry not to be of any more encouragement.

Regards

Not sure about the M3 but it is quite low. The 3 series sold around 65,000 in the UK and 500,000+ worldwide in 2003.

oh well, the downside of exclusivity! :D

The LS sells at the rate of ONE car per day!!!! Now that is exclusive...
