Is it under braking when you come off the throttle?

Do a low speed check, when setting off let go of s/wheel if it still pulls then as above get alignment checked.

When coming off throttle again at low speeds brake gently with hands off s/wheel if it still pulls check for worn pads, discs or a sticky caliper piston.

Under braking all is well it is just when you gun it in any gear that it pulls hard to the right. 35k on the clock and i think it is some bushes on the rear but i have little experience of rear drive cars!!

Front wheel drive-Torque steer, due to drieshafts out of gearbox...direct to wheels, shorter side, power applied sooner, longer side takes longer, so car travels slightly.

Rear wheel drive down centre of car from gearbox and distributed evenly between both rear wheels..

This is why I prefer rear wheel drive cars as they should drive straight and perfect under acceleration.

Get it seen to NOW!

I had an Escort Scabbie that had front wishbone trouble.....

As I accelrated it pulled one way, and I turned the steering wheel appropriately to compensate the "travel" as I lifted off acceleration, due to my steering wheel over compensation, I had to readjust my steering again.....

This was front wishbones and bushes.

  • 4 weeks later...

Took the car back to the garage i got it and they replaced the rear suspension bushes after waiting a week for them to be delivered and no difference. The garage booked the car in to Lexus Aberdeen and they put the spare wheel on so that both back tyres had the same tread pattern and yipeee all is well. The tyres on the back only had different tread patterns and were the same size!! Just something to keep in mind"!!
