Revving These Engines

Recommended Posts

Until I bought this Is200 I have been used to Vtec honda engines which rev freely to their rev limiter of 8500 approx on my Vti.these engines are bullitproof and are nearly impossible to wreck unless you dont change the oil /filter etc.

I would be interested to hear from seasoned Is200 owners as to how they view the Lexus engine and how they feel about it.

Mine is only got 1200 on it at the moment so I am not pushing it!!

Love it! :)

Maybe it's a bit sluggish from a standing start but on the motorways (where I do about 80% of my driving) it's a dream - I like the way the car just "floats" along.

if you want to drive it a like a Vtec then get an induction kit (TDi) and an free-er flowing exhaust (HKS) and you will find the engine is a lot more spritely. Plus you will get better MPG!

Low down power is a bit pony, but the 6 speed box lets you keep it on the boil.

I drive my one very hard and it loves to be revved.
