Fitting A Mobile Phone Kit

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone

Today I bought a 2002 IS300 Sportcross that I absolutely delighted with :D - what a car! A huge step up in class from my modded Saab 9-3.

Anyway I'd like to fit my Motorola V50 car kit into the Lexus and am looking for some help. I'm not at all bothered about it linking in with the radio (dealer advised that this often "messes up the electrics"). Can anyone tell me where to take a feed from - my guess would be somewhere behind the glovebox? And are there any mounting brackets available for the IS?

Thanks in advance

Congrats on the car and welcome.

I used a mounting bracket from Dashmount.......... cheap and cheerful but does the job. There is a mute wire on the stereo so shouldn't be any problems wiring either.

Thanks for the welcome.

I had a good search on the topic last night and found lots of very useful info.

I'll contact Dashmount

be aware that not all of the radios have a mute wire! , believe it was only the early models of radio that had this?

Mine is Oct 2003 and it has a mute.................. :duh:

Maybe the earlier ones didn't have it?

i understand that the mute wire is yellow (from previous threads) so I'll find out when I take it out.
